ANZAC Day Blog Hop

Welcome to the ANZAC Day Blog Hop!

Anzac Day has long been an important day in the calendar of both Australia and New Zealand, as we remember the lives given for our freedom at Anzac Cove during World War I. Anzac Day, April 25 is a day of such significance in our history and culture, both our countries have national public holidays.

As Australasian Close To My Heart consultants we wanted to showcase the Australasian Stamp Sets that Close To My Heart have made for us. The projects we share with you today are shared in the spirit of both gratitude and national pride.

We hope you enjoy seeing some artwork focusing on these stamp sets! They include Australian Salutations, Australian Thanks, Outback Adventure, Hoppy Birthday, New Zealand Greetings and Aussie Praises.

If you have come from Jenny you are on the right track!

Being a proud New Zealander, I had to go with the New Zealand Greetings Stamp Set.

My first project is a card inspired by a layout in the Originals Card Confidence Book. I used shades of blue to pop against the brown fern stamp, and added some texture with Aqua Dots. I love my washi tape pennants! The trick is to mount the washi on white cardstock first, and then the design still comes through but the washi is more sturdier to work with.

The next card is a simple repeated image trick that I have also done here. The Kiwi image and "sweet as' go together so well, and New Zealander at home or overseas would get a smile out of this card. The Kiwi slang language is such a big part of our country, and I love that CTMH have included it on the stamp set. If you need more insight into New Zealand colloquialisms, check out this website (laughs may ensue!)

Finally, here is a New Zealand outdoor layout featuring the "sweet as" sentiment and fern. Perfect NZ weather requires a trip to feed the ducks! I added some red cardstock, washi tape and die cuts to complete my layout, as well as some of the wooden trinkets for an outdoorsy feel.

Thanks for stopping by today! I would love for you to leave me a comment before heading off to Patricia's blog.

  4. Spot on Lauren - that Fern really does POP with the blue. The stamp has such detail - it looks like a pressed leaf on the page - love it!
